SID-Washington is pleased to announce the second Innovation Competition. Institutional members will have the opportunity to pitch their innovative products and/or services to all conference attendees. This year's categories include:
Planet, People, and Prosperity corresponds with the World Economic Forum (WEF) recent report.

Guidelines
Round 1: Participating teams will present the financial, environmental, and/or social values of their pitch through a pitch deck and video (see below). When applying, institutional members should indicate which category they are submitting their innovation. There will be two finalists for each category. Finalists will demonstrate innovative solutions that have at least achieved proof of concept and have the potential to impact society, communities, and customers in the areas and countries in which the international development community works. Please see this very handy guide that provides advice on recording videos to make them look polished no matter what equipment you use.
Round 2: The second round takes place during the Virtual Annual Conference as a second set of judges will assess the innovations presented in the virtual showcase and vote on winners of each category. There will also be a breakout session dedicated to the Innovation Showcase. Attendees will be able to vote for a “Best in Show.” Winners will be announced during the Closing Plenary on October 8.
Scoring Criteria
Teams from institutional member organizations must submit the following two items to enter the competition.

- People (Society) – An ambition to end poverty and hunger, in all their forms and dimensions, and to ensure that all human beings can fulfill their potential in dignity and equality and in a healthy environment.
- Planet (Environment) – An ambition to protect the planet from degradation, including through sustainable consumption and production sustainably managing its natural resources and taking urgent action on climate change, so that it can support the needs of the present and future generations.
- Prosperity (Economy) – An ambition to ensure that all human beings can enjoy prosperous and fulfilling lives and that economic, social and technological progress occurs in harmony with nature.

How to Participate
Email your slide deck and link to your 3-minute video (YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platform preferred), title of the video, the presenter(s) name, and a short 100-word blurb about the video to AnnualConference@sidw.org no later than Wednesday, September 16 at 5:00 pm (EST). Please note your institutional member affiliation in your email. The winning and runner-up video entries will be featured at our Annual Conference so please make sure you are happy with the quality before submitting it. Submissions sent after the deadline of Wednesday, September 16 at 5:00 pm (EST) will not be considered.

- Finalists will have their videos posted on the SID-Washington website.
- Finalists will receive two complimentary conference tickets for their organization.
- SID-Washington has the right to publish all applications and videos on its website and social media and will credit the organization.
